13/09: Fashion Blog
I just read in yesterday's Wall Street Journal that some bloggers were invited to cover Fashion Week in NY. I'm thinking I'm covering the wrong beat--I've got to start blogging fashion--so...ummmmm. Okay, I don't know about fashion (except I do know how to shop). I do like what's out for Fall--bought a tres cute chocolate brown sweater dress that I'll wear with matching leggings and tall boots. Thinking about wearing it for Yom Kippur, but it's kinda fun and kicky so not certain that's the right vibe for Yom--maybe I'll wear it for Rosh. I'm also playing around with the idea of hosting a Mom's Night Out in the Sukkah (if I can convince my husband to put up the sukkah again!) I did try on gorgeous crocodile boots but I can't justify the cost (by the way, I'm sure they were not real crocodile--but that was the pattern on the leather).
Going to a fashion show at Neiman's tomorrow to benefit Hebrew Home. Can't wait. I'll blog after that and let you know what I've learned. So psyched to take the day off and walk around all the amazing stores.
Now that I've finished blogging fashion, I'll blog television (maybe I'll get an invite to the Emmys!) I watched a new show last night that was vgood--Men in Trees (ABC). It was described as Sex in the City meets Northern Exposure and, I've got to tell ya, that was the perfect description. Anne Heche plays a relationship coach that writes best selling advice books. She is sent to speak at a little town in Alaska (10:1 ratio male:female in town). On the way there, she learns that her fiancee is cheating on her with the reporter from some hot shot New York magazine (who, by the way, gave her new book a great review) and decides to stay in Alaska and (literally) chill. It was very cute--totally predictable--but extremely watchable. I think the regular time slot will be Friday nights. Check it out.
That's all--must go check my mailbox for the dozens of big LA invites I'm certain to get now!
